Dear supporters and praying friends,

Hello, hope this letter finds you doing well in the beginning of the summer season. We pray that Lord
will be glorified in all you do in ministry through the summer events.

Our visa situation is still an ongoing process. As we write you this letter, the government wants a
specific form, but we cannot figure out what they want. We have a deadline to meet and we trust the Lord will
bring us through this and increase our trust and patience.

We have had a few visitors come to our deaf class who were brought by the same couple we mentioned
in our last letter. This deaf couple wants to bring people to church to get a better life. We pray that this deaf
couple, along with the visitors, discover the true meaning of God’s love and His plan for us. As we commit to
trust and obey in the Lord once we give our lives to Jesus, we have Him asImage removed.
LORD of our lives. Not only here, but everywhere we see people come to
church because they begin to have problems in their lives and when their
problems are solved or lives are getting better, they decide they don’t need
church anymore. People are missing the true reason of church: Jesus. We
cannot live without Jesus in our daily lives. He is the source of our spiritual
life just as we need air for our breathing and water for our body.

Last year we mentioned that we would be helping a deaf ministryImage removed.
while its missionary pastor, Bro. Carl Johnson, went to the USA on
furlough. Last December we began to pray about what we will do when
Bro. Johnson returns. After some counsel and much prayer, we feel peace
about the decision we made. Bro. Johnson has returned to Brazil and he
will continue the deaf ministry here in Ribeirão Preto. We will move to Sao
Paulo to go to language school for foreigners. We feel we need to understand the language better in order to be
able to minister to the deaf, giving God’s Word in their language. It is not very easy to learn another language:
we must comprehend the language of Portuguese and then explain it in a second language, Brazilian Sign
Language (LIBRAS).

We have confirmed that the Lord has opened the door for us to move to São Paulo. We found an
interpreter, an American missionary to the deaf in Sao Paulo, Dan Bennett, who will interpret for us in sign
language at the language school. Also, the owner of the “house” up the road from the Bennett’s house will be
transformed into 6 potential apartments and we will be the first tenants of two apartments. The owner is fixing
up ours first to put two adjacent apartments together so we can move in the first week of July.

Please pray that we will continue to seek the Lord’s wisdom and strength as we pack and prepare for our
move to Sao Paulo and for adjusting our lives once again. Also continue to pray for the Johnson family here in
Ribeirão Preto as they continue to minister to the deaf. Please do not forget to pray for our daughters, as they
may be too young to understand our moving, but the changes may not sit well with them. Thank you for all you
do to encourage us to continue to be in the Lord’s ministry. The Lord be with you all and keep you all.

In Christ Alone,
Michael, Ruth, Giovanna, and Roniya
